About me
I am Dr Ayodeji N. Oyedeji, a researcher specialising in emerging technologies, including advanced and laser-based manufacturing, materials science, and composite systems. My research leverages process-structure-property interaction and advanced manufacturing methods to develop novel materials suitable for advanced industrial applications with improved properties. My work focuses on understanding process interactions to develop data-driven models that enhance performance, reduce costs, and advance efficiency.

Background
Background
I have a doctorate in Industrial Engineering from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. For my doctoral research, I developed the process-structure-property interactions of three novel composites produced by laser powder bed fusion. I employed numerical models to predict the residual stresses in these composites, with experimental validation using neutron diffraction. I completed my master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, with a focus on developing an oil palm harvesting robot to address the ergonomic challenges of traditional oil palm harvesting. I completed my undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the same university, focusing on weight reduction in the braking system of an environmentally friendly vehicle. I have assisted in tutoring undergraduate courses and supervising student projects on topics including engineering management, biomaterials, and manufacturing systems.

As a Registered Member of the Southern African Institute for Industrial Engineering (SAIIE), South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE), Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), I am committed to driving innovation and sustainability within the engineering industry. My goal is to bridge the gap between research and practical application by developing efficient manufacturing processes, advanced materials, and smart engineering solutions. Through this, I aim to contribute to industrial growth, technological advancement, and national development. Academically, I am an active reviewer for international journals, including Advanced Engineering Materials (Wiley), Additive Manufacturing (Elsevier), Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery (Springer), Iranian Polymer (Springer), Discover Biotechnology (Springer), Social Sciences and Humanities Open (Elsevier), and Next Materials (Elsevier), as well as conferences including the Rapid Product Development Association of South Africa conference.
